GreenFILE is a literature database concerned with the human impact on the environment. It holds over 300.000 records describing articles, reports and (US) government documents. GreenFILE is multidisciplinary in character. For some journals it covers historical volumes as well. The coverage of these, together with reports and government documents makes GreenFILE a worthwhile addition to large general scientific databases such as Scopus or Web of Science.

IEEE Xplore is a research database for discovery of journal articles, conference proceedings, technical standards, and related materials on computer science, electrical engineering and electronics, and allied fields. It contains material published mainly by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and other partner publishers like Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET).
NOTE: Anyone can search IEEE Xplore and find bibliographic records and abstracts for its contents, while access to full-text documents requires an individual or institutional subscription.

JCR provides a ranking on the basis of factors such as impact (with a 5 year trend) , immediacy index and cited halflife for 10,000 journals. The citation information is taken from the Science Citation Index and the Social Sciences Citation Index, and is mostly used to rank the relative importance of journals with their subject categories.

JSTOR offers full-text access to an archive database of ca. 700 English-language journals in various disciplines. All volumes (including the earliest) are available and can be searched in full text; the most recent years are not included in this archive due to copyright. Microsoft Academic Search (MAS) is a search engine for scholarly publications: journal articles, conference proceedings etc., but it does not cover books. MAS is Microsoft’s answer to Google Scholar.
MAS offers advanced search options, graphic views of author networks, citation data and support browsing by subject, journal, author etc.
Coverage of humanities in particular is much smaller than that at Google Scholar.

The OldMapsOnline Portal is an easy-to-use gateway to historical maps in libraries around the world. It allows the user to search for online digital historical maps across numerous different collections via a geographical search. Search by typing a place-name or by clicking in the map window, and narrow by date.

Overton is a search engine that helps to find millions of policy documents from all countries and in all languages by subject, title, organization and more. The full texts are also searchable. RefWorks is a web-based bibliographic management service. It allows users to create personal citation databases by importing references from text files or online databases. RefWorks is similar in function to software products such as EndNote, Reference Manager, and ProCite. It differs in that personal databases are stored on the RefWorks server and can be accessed through the University Library institutional account from wherever the user happens to be.
For your first visit, you will have to create an account name and password. Once you have created an account, use Refworks from anywhere.

TRID Transportation Research is the world's largest bibliographic resource on transportation information. The references are mainly to English language publications. The database is indexed with a standardized vocabulary from the Transportation Research Thesaurus (TRT).
TRID is produced and maintained by the Transportation Research Board in the USA together with the OECD and contains over 900,000 records of published research. It includes the US National Transportation Libray (NTL) records with links to many full text publications in the NTL repository and all records from the International Transport Research Documentation of the OECD.

This World Bank database contains over 800 time-series indicators for 209 countries and 18 country groups, covering 1960 to 2008. Included are sets of country tables, covering specialized topics such as social indicators, economic indicators, education, and population projection.

WorldCat is the world's largest bibliographic database, the merged catalogues of over 50,000 OCLC member libraries in over 90 countries. The database was created in 1971 and is maintained at intermittent intervals.
